Lincoln Carnival Frequently Asked questions (FAQs)
What is the Lincoln Carnival?
The carnival is a year-end celebration in honor of all the learning and growing our students did this year.
Is the Lincoln Carnival a fundraiser?
Not really. We sell raffle tickets for prizes and sell wristbands for admission, but those generally just cover the cost of putting on the event.
What does each class do to participate?
Each classroom is responsible for a raffle basket and a booth at the carnival. Families are asked to contribute items for their class baskets (new/unopened items). Teachers will also coordinate with their classroom parents to find volunteers to staff their class booth. To see what your child’s class is doing for this year’s carnival, see the Lincoln Carnival main page.
Can people not associated with Lincoln Elementary buy raffle tickets?
Yes!!!! Grandparents/extended family members, co-workers, neighbors, friends are all welcome to buy raffle tickets. They do not need to be present to win. If they are not in attendance at the carnival, we will contact them via the number they provide us. They will have two weeks (until the end of school) to pick up their prize (or send someone to pick it up)
I have something that would make a great raffle prize, but it doesn’t match my child’s raffle basket theme, would you still be interested in it?
Definitely! We reach out to many local businesses for raffle prizes, but we certainly don’t know everyone. The raffle prize can be tax deductible, since the LPSG is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Please contact us via the contact page or via your child’s teacher.
I’d like to volunteer with the carnival, but due to my family’s schedule, I can’t between 5:00-7:00. Is there any other way for me to help?
We’d love your help! We do need help with set-up before the carnival, 3:30-5:00pm (we are limited because we can’t do much while school is in session). We will also need help with clean up from 7:00-8:30pm. Each volunteer is eligible to receive 1 free admission bracelet! Sign up here.
The Lincoln Carnival is happening when we are usually eating dinner. Should we eat beforehand, or will there be concessions at the carnival?
Great question! Do what is best for your family of course, but there will be snacks and concessions available, including meal items.
Where/how do I buy raffle tickets and admission for the Lincoln Carnival?
Information will be coming home about each of these items, but we will also post information on our Facebook page and website.
Raffle tickets come in packs of 10, and as your child brings back tickets the corresponding amount of money is collected. Admission is via wristbands.
